Terms
The terms for using Vidray and buying Vidray Pro.
Draft. This text is waiting for a lawyer’s review and may change before launch.
Who we are
Vidray is made by [LEGAL ENTITY] (“we”). These terms are between you and us. By installing Vidray or buying Vidray Pro you accept them.
Using Vidray
Vidray Free is free to use, with no time limit. Vidray Pro adds the features listed on our pricing page.
A Pro license works on one computer at a time, Windows or Mac. You can move it to another computer whenever you like by deactivating the old one, in Vidray or at vidray.app/account. Every future update and tool is included; a license does not expire.
You may not share your license key, sell it, or get around the license check.
Buying Pro
Polar, our payment provider, sells Vidray Pro to you as the merchant of record. It handles the payment, the invoice and any tax, which is added at checkout where it applies. The price is a single payment; there is no subscription and nothing renews.
Refunds
[REFUND POLICY]
Your videos
Vidray processes your videos on your computer. They are not uploaded to us. You are responsible for having the right to use the videos you convert or compress.
FFmpeg and other open-source parts
Vidray uses FFmpeg, which is not ours. It is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License version 2.1 (LGPLv2.1), and its source code, with the scripts we use to build it, is available at github.com/furkanbagci34/vidray-releases. These terms do not limit any right the LGPLv2.1 gives you for FFmpeg, including the right to modify it, replace it with your own build, and reverse engineer the parts of Vidray that use it to debug such changes. The licence texts of FFmpeg and the other components are included in the app.
Apart from those components, you may not copy, modify or reverse engineer Vidray, except where the law allows it.
No warranty
Vidray is provided “as is”. We work to make it reliable, but we don’t promise it will be free of errors or fit every purpose. Keep your originals: Vidray saves new files next to them and does not overwrite them.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data. Our total liability is limited to what you paid for Vidray Pro.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will say so on this page before it takes effect.
